Evaluation

Cover Lines

The cover lines tell us that the audience are less into idle gossip and more into actual information and verdicts on fashion, entertainment and other subjects related. The magazine is aimed at a male audience after all so it offers "Best places to take her on a day out!" telling us the editor assumes these men are young and looking for, if not already with a woman to take out and get with.

Font

The used font is formal but only to some extent as I wanted it, this is because I wanted the font to be sharp but also look fun, as it is right now, this is because that is how I want my audience. I want them to look good, be dressed "sharp" and have class but not be unable to have fun, go out and go wild every now and then.

House Style

I used the same font throughout apart from the title on the masthead and I used the repeating colour scheme of black, white and red. I used these because red has high visibility, it is a fun colour, it stimulates people to make quick decisions and represents energy and desire. White represents perfection and purity. Black represents power, elegance and formality, these 3 colours describe my readers and what they aim to achieve.

Layout

The layout as I said follows many conventions, however I altered a few purposely as I believe it looks better this way. Parts of the cover look sophisticated and others are quite busy, this is once again a representation of my audience and the lifestyle they lead, sophisticated but busy having fun and doing things. It does not take too long to take everything in.
